The scene was set for the presentation of ECOmove’s new electric car, QBEAK.

Immediately after the climate and business conference, EU Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard took over and unveiled the QBEAK prototype.

At the conference, the managing director of Energi Horsens, Mogens Vig Petersen,  made a short introduction to ECOmove and the QBEAK electric car in his presentation. Energi Horsens is one of ECOmove’s primary investors and they actively support the creation of Horsens as a centre for electric car companies.

After the unveiling of the car, Connie Hedegaard took the opportunity to receive some further information about the car and its climate advantages. QBEAK is a lightweight eco-car which is able to run further than a number of other electric cars per charge. The choice of materials makes many of the parts reusable which equals savings for the consumer.

In addition to that, the EU Climate Action Commissioner was briefly introduced to the functions of the car. A smartphone is the core intelligence of the car and it works as a dashboard and as a remote control for many functions; for example turning on the heat while the car is still charging. The smartphone can also be used to get an indication of the remaining battery time, no matter where the owner is situated. Furthermore, the phone is able to automatically open the electrical sliding doors as you approach them.

We thank the highly involved and interested EU Commissioner Connie Hedegaard very much for her effort.
